Sage B. wins the 2021 Manvel Schauffler Award

During this year’s commencement ceremony, 2021 graduate Sage B. was recognized as a student of excellence with the Manvel Schauffler Award.  Tim Owens, EW’s Dean of Students, announced the winner and discussed the significance of this achievement.  Manvel Schauffler, a founding board member of Explorer West, played an integral role in the development of the school. At our annual commencement, we recognize a graduating student with his namesake award. The faculty selects an 8th grader who best exemplifies those traits most closely associated with ‘Schauff’:
