This is my sixth year leading admissions at Explorer West. I love watching fifth graders grow into confident young people, ready to embrace the challenges of high school and beyond. Prospective families always ask me, "what are you looking for in an Explorer West student?"

At Explorer West, there is no single "type" of student we're looking for. Our community thrives because of its diversity—students who bring different strengths, interests, and challenges. We believe each student has something unique to offer.

Explorer West is a place where students can explore their talents and face challenges head-on, all while being part of a supportive, inclusive environment. Whether a student shines in academics, the arts, outdoor education, or is still finding their path, our teachers work with them to find their potential.

Our small, welcoming school creates space for all kinds of learners to thrive. We see every student for who they are, celebrating their individual journey and helping them grow in their own way.
