We are so excited to introduce the three new teachers who will be joining the Explorer West faculty for the 2020-2021 school year.
Anna Morin has been teaching English and Social Studies in secondary schools since 2003, most recently at Big Picture High School in Bellevue. Her teaching style is characterized by engaging, authentic projects, culturally relevant curriculum and instructional methods, and strong relationships. Anna will be teaching 7th and 8th grade English and will be an advisor. Anna looks forward to close collaboration with other teachers, and to get to know our students and families!
Sarra Sharif teaches choir and orchestra at Kirkland Middle School and is the choir coordinator for the Lake Washington School District. She also directs the middle school-aged choir of The Seattle Girls’ Choir and sings professionally in a variety of contexts, including The Byrd Ensemble. At her current school, her classroom is a place where children choose to hang out when they have free time, and she is known for how effectively she has enabled student leadership. Sarra is excited to come to a school where all students have the opportunity to build their musical skills and perform together. Sarra will also be an advisor.
Daniela Hall comes to us from The Evergreen School in Shoreline, where she has been teaching social studies in 6th to 8th grades since 2007. She is beloved there for her fantastic energy, her high expectations with effective support, her creative projects, and her passion for teaching geography and current events. Daniela will be working at Explorer West part-time, teaching both sections of 6th grade social studies. What a perfect fit for our school community!
