Every year, the eight graders at Explorer West Middle School, under the tutelage of Social Studies teacher Tim Owens, tackle their choice of social issues and complete group projects aptly named “Change The World.” They present their findings to all grades and to a panel of social advocates. These students are entering high school this fall and we know they will Change The World.
Part of the Save The World project involves canvassing and collecting signatures to support their cause. Here is a video of one of 2018 8th grade groups canvassing in West Seattle. They were advocating on behalf of refugees. We are so proud of these students for taking such initiative and action. Good Luck in High School!
