You're Invited!

We are hosting a dinner and auction, complete with fun carnival spirit and games, and we want you to come!  We will have silent and live auction items and feature a Fund-A-Need, which is our paddle raise to provide critical funding for updating and upgrading our indoor learning environments at Explorer West.

Our Step Right Up event will take place in person this year at the Hall of Fauntleroy in West Seattle on Friday, May 12! 

Can't Attend In-Person?

If you prefer to support our Explorer West community from home or will be out of town on auction night, or perhaps you want to share the event with friends and family, there is a remote guest option so you can bid on Silent Auction items and donate from anywhere and for free! There will not be a Livestream this year to watch the event but you can follow along by signing up on GiveSmart to get updates on when the silent auction opens.

What to Expect

Wednesday, May 10
Now Open!The Silent Auction will open on Wednesday, in GiveSmart. Browse our amazing items and start placing bids on your favorites.
Friday, May 12
5:45 PMDoors open at the Hall of Fauntleroy. Step right up and join the fun at our carnival-themed cocktail party with games, drinks, appetizers, and fun! 
7:15 PMOur inspiring program will begin with a family-style dinner (see options below), accompanied by beer and wine. After dinner, we’ll have our popular Dessert Dash to satisfy your sweet tooth.
9:30 PM(ish)Program wraps up. All good things must come to an end, and time flies when you’re having fun. Thanks so much for joining us!


  1. Visit https://EWCarnival.givesmart.com and click the yellow Register button below “Event Registration” on the left.
  2. Select your preferred registration type and quantity. 
    1. The deadline has past for a dinner ticket, but a free auction-only registration, is available until May 16. You may select any donation amount you would like to make in addition to your registration (optional) and click the Next Button.
  3. Add your information as the purchaser.
  4. Enter your EW student’s grade in the Company or Group Name. Click the Save and Continue button.
  5. Enter any dietary information and any seating requests.
  6. Enter credit card information and complete payment (required to register and to start bidding).
  7. Please review the Terms and Conditions and check the box that you agree to them.
  8. Check the Text Messages box to receive text updates for bids, purchases, and important event announcements. This is especially helpful for our remote guests.
  9. Check the “I’m not a robot” box and click Pay to complete your registration. An email confirmation will be sent to the email provided.
  10. Create your username and password to update your order information later.

How to Update Registration Info After Purchase

If you need to change the attendees linked to your registration or update your contact information, GiveSmart makes it easy. You can update your registration either through the email receipt or from the event Pay page. You can add or edit your mobile number and email to receive event notifications and reminders.

Update via the Email Link

  1. Locate your ticket purchase email notification.
  2. Click Update Attendee Details in the email body.
  3. Follow the prompts to sign in with your username and password and update the information you provided.

Update via the event Pay Page

  1. Access the event site at https://EWCarnival.givesmart.com
  2. Select Pay from the menu bar at the top of the page.
  3. Select “View Order” under the Purchase section to make edits.
  4. You can update your guest information, contact information, or company/group name if needed.
