6th-grade parent Noirin Lynch set up some volunteer opportunities at Food Lifeline. From Noirin:
The group slots for Food Lifeline go fast, but I was able to get 2 slots for us: Tuesday, November 7th, and Tuesday, December 12th, both from 6-8 pm.
I created a Sign Up Genius for those families that can make it. Everyone seemed fine with mixed grades, so go ahead and sign up for the date that works best for your family. I made comments required on the SUG so we can let everyone know grade levels in case someone has a preference. I will be using the SUG to send Food Lifeline a roster a few days before the event, so if your kiddo’s last name differs from yours, please just let me know in the comment section. Carpooling and or bringing along a EW friend (whose parent can’t attend) is encouraged.
- Bring a signed waiver for every kiddo (attached below). I will print a few extra for those that forget, but if you are bringing another student, make sure they have theirs with them.
- Wear closed toe shoes and dress in layers. We will be working in their refrigerated warehouse so a jacket or warm sweatshirt is good to have.
- Arrive 10-15 min early to sign in, print name tags, and use the restroom
- No food or drink is allowed once we start in the warehouse so plan accordingly. They do provide cocoa and cider packets while you wait for the event to begin.
