Seattle’s 15th annual ACT Theatre Young Playwrights Program will feature award-winning new work from Explorer West’s Sam McGee. Sam’s play “The Dog” will be performed by a professional team of local directors and actors who will bring Sam’s play to life in staged readings.
Sam McGee, EW class of 2018, was selected as one of only eight students in Seattle to be both produced and published by ACT Theatre. Sam’s play, “The Dog,” is about Mop, the dog, who talks to Timmy, a boy. This comedy brings a dramatic voice to a manipulative dog.
“Empowering future artists through theatre and literacy is one of the most important parts of this program; I am so proud of Sam and all our emerging playwright students,” said Explorer West’s Drama Department Head David Kelly.
Sam’s play will be performed on these days:
Friday, March 17 at 7:30pm
Saturday, March 18 at 1:00pm
